Welcome to Hazel Street Church of Christ. Here you can learn about our Church of Christ beliefs and our desire to follow Jesus Christ according to the New Testament. We are simply Christians, nothing more and nothing less. Our aim is to honor Christ as the Head of the church (Colossians 1:18). We wear no denominational names and follow no man-made creeds. Like the early disciples, we strive to be only the church Jesus built (Acts 2:47).

Apart from God, we can do nothing (John 15:6). With Him, all things are possible (Philippians 4:13). Our greatest goal is to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. Because of that, “we have as our ambition…to be pleasing to Him” (2 Corinthians 5:9). If we miss Heaven, we miss everything.

Salvation and Faith According to Scripture

The Bible teaches that salvation comes by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). This faith is not passive. It is living and obedient (James 2:14–26). In every area of life, we seek to submit to God’s will. Rather than picking and choosing what feels convenient, we strive to follow the whole counsel of God.

New Testament Worship and Christian Living

Our worship is simple, reverent, and based on the New Testament pattern. Through a cappella singing, we offer praise to God (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). Each Sunday, we partake of the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice (Acts 20:7). Cheerful giving follows God’s instruction (1 Corinthians 16:1–2; 2 Corinthians 9:7). Along with these acts of worship, we devote ourselves to prayer, teaching, and preaching God’s Word.
